What is DAvED?

DAvED (pronounced “David”) stands for Digital Audio via Electrical Distribution.  It’s called a “whole house audio system” because it does just what that term implies – gets up to six channels of CD-quality digital audio anywhere in your home so you can listen where you want to.  And, as long as your home already has electrical wiring, you don’t have to install any new cables, drill holes through walls and ceilings, or endure the disruption that often accompanies more conventional approaches. 

DAvED is based on Marantz’s award-winning SR5600 full-featured home theater receiver.

How Does DAvED Work?

The DAvED wireless audio system is comprised of two components that work together – the Marantz ZR6001 audio/video receiver and the ZC4001 client.

The system’s transmitter inserts a high frequency “carrier” signal (between 20 kHz and 200 kHz) into your home’s pre-existing AC wiring.  Because each DAvED component has a unique identifying “address,” you can precisely control your system from anywhere in your home.  All you need do is plug your DAvED-enabled components into regular AC power outlets and your new multi-room audio system is ready to go!
